Modified Colours in Lambs

I thought that I'd share with you some pictures of lambs that are modified colours this morning.

The first one is Willow Garden Chicory, a light mioget ewe lamb out of Dailley Dinah Shore ... and a Dailley polled, musket ram. I bought Dinah Shore last December, and she was already bred to the polled ram. Dinah has the softest, crimpiest and most even fleece I have ever seen on a Dailley Ewe. I think it is even nicer than Iris' (my favourite ewe) ... but don't tell Iris ... hehehe

Anyway ... Chicory looks like she will have her dam's crimpy fleece and her light mioget fleece. She may be Ag, which will make the fleece even lighter, but she'll still carry that magnificent colour ... ;-)
These two were born to SheltrgPines Kamalya, a golden moorit ewe, carrying the modifier. Kamalya's dam is Cedar Rose Jenny and she is a full sister to SheltrgPines Koca, a ram that appears in many modified pedigrees. The sire is Willow Garden Duke Ellington, an emsket ram with a crimpy, very even and soft 'UK style fleece" (but he is fully domestic ... :-)

The lambs are Willow Garden Bok Choy, a black/white yuglet flecket ram, and Willow Garden Garbonzo, a mioget, blettet ram.

I'll be watching these guys grow with interest as they have good potential as breeding rams. No sign of Bok Choy being modified, but I'll watch for that as a possibility as well.
Here we have mioget twins out of Bono Creak Cleome and Willow Garden Cliff Carlisle. Cleome is a single coated, soft and crimpy moorit ewe who is very correct. Clif, is a mioget gulmoget ram, also very correct, but with a soft, less crimpy and more wavy and feathered intermediate fleece.

The twins are Willow Garden Kobocha, a mioget ram, and Willow Garden Buttercup, a mioget blettet (?) ewe. They will be exquisite ... all of Cleome's lambs are!

And to end the morning as I get ready to go and feed the flock ... another shot of Bok Choy and Guava, taken when they were older.

PS ... these are still Gene's pictures. We'll see if you notice the difference once they are mine ... hehehe
