So far, rams are ahead for the second year in a row! 8 lambs born ... 5 rams ... 3 ewes. And just 15 ewes left to lamb in my smallest lambing year since 2002.
This little guy is out of a ewe that is F2 Orion and sired by Underhill Thelonius Monk. His sire is F1 North Wind Holiday. He is big, and square, and full of spunk ... BUT can he ever grow into that fleece!!! And where the heck did it come from! ... but ... he is growing on me. I named him Sudbury as that is about the ugliest Ontario city I could think of. We'll see. He may get a name change as he 'matures' ... ;-)These two boys are out of WillowGarden Garnish, a wildly spotted, scurred katmoget ram (F2 Hornblower, F2 Glayva, F3 Timothy, F3 Greyling) and WillowGarden Kazinga (F1 Glayva, F2 Minder). Both are exquisite! ... but two boys!!! ... aw well. At least they are nice ones. They are WillowGarden Whitby and WillowGarden Ajax. Ajax appears to be Ab/Ag ... so he might be the boy for my extension dominant ewes next year. We will see ... :-)
Life is good.
