New Heifer Calves

Well ... on Friday night, after lambing out a ewe, I jugged the other one that I thought might lamb soon ... we headed for Notre-Dame-des-Bois in Quebec. We left at 11:45 PM and got there by 7 AM on Saturday. We loaded up Petit Sabot Whiskers (in front above) and Petit Sabot Winka (behind). Then we headed home. We were home by 2:45 PM on Saturday after driving about 1250 km. Much of the weekend was a blur ... but such a good one ... :-).

Four ewes had single lambs. I'll get pictures of those up later.
These calves have genetics from many AI sire that are no longer available in the primary market. Winka, the biggest of the two, was born November 5, 2009. The smaller heifer, Whiskers, was born December 2, 2009.
Above is Whiskers. She is very tame.
This is Winka. She is less tame, but my favourite ... :-)
Winka, again. Can yah not see just a bit of attitude in this girl ... ;-)

Life is good!
