Face Spots

Here are a few of my girls with face spotting. I LOVE to look at them. They make me smile ... :-) There are many more ... but these are the ones that stayed still for this silly old photographer ... hehehe

Count Down To Dinner ... :-)

This is the best time of year to raise meat birds, I find. With the cooler weather, they are so much more active.

I feed them inside ... and keep their water outside, so they HAVE to get excercise. Looking at this crew, it seems to be working. They are very active ... and getting to the right size for THEIR trip to DisneyLand ... ;-)

I can taste them already! And THINK of the Christmas gifts that friends, family and co-workers will get once these guys and gals are processed ... hohoho

Man's ... and Sheep's ... Best Friends

These are the unsung heroes at Willow Garden. They work tirelessly to protect their sheep ... and they are always willing to offer much appreciated hugs to the shepherd. Nick is the big guy.
Kayla is the smaller one of the two. They are the most loving and unselfish creatures I have ever known. I love them to bits ... and wouldn't even think about having this number of sheep, without their help.
A GREAT BIG PUBLIC 'THANK YOU' ... AND HUGS TO NICK AND KAYLA ... :-)

The Final Excitement For 2008 Lambs

I wish that I had taken a better picture of this guy. I'll look through pictures from previous visits to see what I can find.

This guy is awesome! He is a grey smirslet, sokket katmoget. He is an F2 Minder, F3 Holly, F3 Timothy) ... which makes him 50% UK. He is soft (22 micron as a lamb), crimpy, and well conformed. He is Underhill Thelonius Monk.

He is currently at Sheltering Pines and has thrown some very awesome lambs there.

He will bring spots to lambs from my F1 ewes that will be carrying spots from my spotted ewes that will be AIed next week.

Yet More Excitement For 2008

This guy had a bad haircut last February ... but trust me ... he is awesome. He is Lughart Starry Champion ... who will be known as 'Champ'. He is an F1 Greyling ram that is six years old. His horns are bashed. He is thin. He is a lover and not a fighter, and he will live with my Kismet. His fleece is soft, crimpy, and the darkest grey that I have seen. He'll be a great addition to the line-up for 2008 lambs. He is coming to Willow Garden from Stephen Rouse's Sheltering Pines flock.

Yah gotta love him ... :-)

Another Ram For 2008 Lambs

Well, this guy has me excited as well! He is Bramble Nick, coming from Julie Guilette in Wisconsin. Nick is out of Walnut Rise Trevor, who is 75% UK (F1 Greyling, F2 Holly) and Bramble Faye (F1 Jamie). If my math is correct, this makes Nick 62.5% UK ... for what that might be worth.

His fleece is VERY black, and VERY soft ... AND very crimpy!

I am really excited about what Nick will bring to my flock. He can only bring good things ... :-)
